1890 Aug 21 Born, the eldest son of Fiennes Stanley Wykeham Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis and Mabel Leigh.

The inscription reads 'Presented to Fiennes Wykeham Mann Cornwallis the newly born heir to the Cornwallis estate by the tenants to commemorate and welcome his advent on 21st August 1890'. Victorian silver pedestal trophy cup by William Hutton & Sons (Edward Hutton), London 1890, the frieze embossed with birds amongst branches above a presentation inscription, on a bead edged circular spreading foot, the interior gilt, 31.5cm (12.5in) high, 778g (25 oz)

1891 A Victorian silver straight-tapered beaker by John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1890, engraved with scroll foliate panels and a presentation, the interior gilt, 12.5cm (5in) high; The presentation reads 'Presented to Fiennes Wykeham Mann Cornwallis on the anniversary of his first Birthday by the employees Linton Park August 21st 1891'

1913 Aug 20. The undermentioned University Candidates to be Second Lieutenants. 17th (Duke of Cambridge's Own) Lancers, Second Lieutenant Fiennes Wykeham Mann Cornwallis, from West Kent Yeomanry.

1914 Nov 9 Landed in France. 17th (Duke of Cambridge's Own) Lancers were in August 1914 : in Sialkot in India, part of the Sialkot Cavalry Brigade. Moved with Brigade to France as part of 1st Indian Cavalry Division, landed Marseilles 7 November 1914. 26 November 1916 : Division renamed 4th Cavalry Division.

1921 May 15. Killed in the Ballyturn ambush in Ireland. The IRA wanted to Kill District Inspector Biggs, and Fiennes Cornwallis just happened to be in the car.
