This soldier drowned in Bungannon,Co.Donegal. He was attempting to cross the estuary of the Erne on horseback. He had previously done this on a few occasions.This time the tide was in which made the task more difficult. Later his horse was seen on the opposite shore in a state of exhaustion and obviously riderless.
