Son of George Thomas and Elizabeth Ann Midgley, of Ocean View Hotel, Humewood, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Buried Grangegorman

Sgt Alfred William Ellis died in the crash as well

Midgley was flying Avro C6018 in which Ellis was a passenger. He had a mid air crash with another aircraft, and crashed killing both men. The other aircraft was C5895
