Lieutenant William Meade Royal Army Service Corps (H.T.)

1922 Feb 20. They appear to have come across a group of men who had stolen a military lorry, and were burning the lorry. The men opened fire on Lt Meade's lorry which contained Lt Meade, CQMS Cunliffe and 2 Privates. Meade and Cuncliffe were either killed or mortally wounded. The privates returned fire the lorry had turned a corner and they were out of sight. Irish Gro gives "Meade" and probate has "Mead"
