Royal Marines killed - 14 May 1921

Ballinacurra 14/5/1921 2 Royal marine artillery gunners abducted, shot dead and dumped in a local quarry. Apparently a "shoot at sight" order had been given to the IRA in Cork on 14 May. There were 7 British Soldiers killed that day, yet oddly there is little written about it being a concerted effort that day.. The murders of the two marines scarcely gets a footnote

The 2 marines may have been on duty at East Ferry, but I cannot verify that, Ballinacurra is about 3 miles from East Ferry
