1897 Oct 10 Born Glaslough Monaghan

1901 census lists Walter Wilson as age 3 living with the family at house 4 in Glaslough, County Monaghan. His father was the Station Manager for the Great Northern Railway in Monaghan Town.

1911 Census Walter was 13 years old. The family now lived at 24 North Road in Monaghan town. His parent had been married 15 years. Walter was at school.

1913 Walter attended the Model School in Monaghan before transferring to Royal School Dungannon in 1913.

1916 Oct 24 Commissioned 2nd Lt in RDF

1918 Apr 27 Promoted Lt in RDF

1920 May 17. died from illness contracted on active service at Monaghan aged 22
