Pte Arthur Alexander Henderson, RASC 419361

This soldier coincidentally went missing in Derry whilst on leave (on this date) the same day an IRA man went missing. Henderson was had previously served with the Royal Irish Rifles.

1901 cenus he is a Grocers Assistant living at Princes Street, Londonderry Urban No. 1, Londonderry. He is boarding there.

1905 Apr/Jun married Annie Maude Wilson in Londonderry

1911 census. He is a commercial traveller living with wife at Dargle St, Clifton, Antrim

1914 Dec 3. He enlisted in December 1914. He was married and lived in Derry. Recommended for Home Service - flat feet

1916 Apr 23. 28 days detention for being drunk

1916 Jul 25 posted to France

1918 Jul 7 Transfers to RASC

1918 Jul 24 in confinement facing trial. He appears to have got 10days for threatening his superior officer

1919. Jan 20 Missing

1919 Mar 2 His body was found and the cause of death is drowning.
