1921 Jul 5, Died age 22 or 25 at Kilbangan Cross from a gunshot wound to the neck and head. The bullet was accidently fired by an RIC constable, L W A Chandler The Inquest reaches the following conclusions
- 1 officer and 15 OR of soldiers and 1 sgt and 7 OR of RIC were were driving fromm The Curragh to Carlow in 3 Crossley tenders.
- When they reached the Kildangan Crossroads at about 22.00, the rear Crossley had a puncture.
- Someone in the rear Crossley fired 2 shots to warn the other Crossleys of the puncture.
- There was then another shot, followed by 2 more. Constable Chandler in the second Crossley had fired the last bunch of 3 shots, again as a warning
- Green, who was in the same Crossley was hit by one of these shots and died on the spot
