1895 Nov . Born I suspect that he has changed his name from a Germanic surname to Goldsmith at the start of the war. He does not appear in BMD or censuses

1914 Nov 26. Attested in Kingston, Surrey. Age 19 years 0 Months. A labourer, born Mitcham

1921 May 15. Wounded at Kenmare. Sgt. Goldsmith was shot while bicycling alone and unarmed between the two billets of the Kenmare detachment. The attack appears to have been part of a cycle of tit for tat killings. I can find nothing in the Irish papers.
