From Highland Light Infantry Chronicle "We regret to report the death of No. 74913 Pte. Dargie, W., Platoon 5, of pneumonia, in Limerick Hospital, and we were unfortunately unable to send anyone to represent the Company at his funeral,. owing to the fact that the news was received too late. A firing party was provided by O.C "D" Company, who were at the time near Limerick.
