Commander Fitzmaurice Massey Acton

Husband of Ruby Acton, of Acton Round, Bridgnorth, Shropshire. He was the son of Colonel Hampden Acton and Lucy Ussher Greer. His date of birth was February 1873.

Captain Acton held the most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George along with the award of Order of the Rising Sun (3rd Class).

On the 30th June 1908 found Fitzmaurice Acton being promoted to commander, he was an interpreter and appointed an Inspecting Officer in the Coast Guard, Rathmullen on 5 January, 1912

He served as the Naval Attaché between 1915 and 1917 at Paris, France and as a Naval Attaché between 1918 and 1920 in Tokyo, Japan.

Captain Fitzmaurice Massey Acton was born on 14 February 1873. He was the son of Colonel Hampden Acton and Lucy Ussher Greer. He married Ruby Stevenson, daughter of James Stevenson, on 7 May 1910. Captain Fitzmaurice Massey Acton was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England. He was invested as an Officer, Legion d'Honneur. He served as the Naval Attaché between 1915 and 1917 at Paris, France. He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G) in 1918. He served as the Naval Attaché between 1918 and 1920 at Tokyo, Japan. He was decorated with the award of Order of the Rising Sun (3rd Class). He gained the rank of Commander and Acting Captain in the service of the Royal Navy. He died on 7 August 1920 at age 47.
