Capt C P Brown wrote reports and issued information to the press. He dealt specially with military information and maintained liason with GHQ. He is quoted as being a PIB official dealing with military news. There was an obvious conflict and overlap with Marians in Military Propaganda Department
Son of a Cotton Mill merchant, educated at Bowdon College and must have gone straight into the Army in 1914, Served in Gallipoli, Egypt and the Western Front. He appears to have been a serving officer while fulfilling his role in the Public Information Department
